Everyone I know says not to buy a plasma and stick with LCDs. But the price on this is about half as much cheaper than a comparable LCD. So I just took a chance, but bought extended warranty just as a safety net.
Picture quality is awesome. I replaced my HD receiver cable boxs COX composite cable with a good HDMI and it actually improved channels transmitting in 1080. Didnt make a difference with 740 channels.
3D? I used to avoid watching 3D movies at theaters like the plague. But watching 3D movies at home, on this TV, made me a believer. Ive tested 3 different sources to watch 3D PS3 Blu-ray, Vudu 3D streaming PS3, and cable box Cox HD receiver. Out of the 3, Blu-ray had the best quality, followed by Vudu streaming, then cable box.
Speaking of streaming, Ive tried streaming via Netflix using the app built into the TV. Im not sure, if its the app or the TVs wifi, but picture quality is terrible. When I stream Netflix using my XBOX or PS3 using wifi, picture quality is way better. So Id just avoid streaming from TV all together.
Overall, the TV is great purchase and I would definitely go plasma again on my next purchase, assumming that its still around by then.

This tv exceeded my expectations. I was not familiar with the smart tv capabilities. This was really easy to set up. The picture was perfect with our any adjustments, and the features are really remarkable. The coolest thing, that isnt even mentioned anywhere is that there is a free iPadiPhone app that can be used in place of the remote. That is really helpful when using the advanced features.
