They are sturdy and look great. Opened packaged and installed them within 10 minutes. They have a nice sleek look smooth and simple. I was worried when I read other reports saying that the holes weren't drilled right but they fit perfect. They aren't too short or too tall the perfect height for behind or beside the couch. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Got these for a great price and quickly found out why they are inexpensive. There is a design flaw from Sanus that will in most cases cause small cracks in the stand legs. You are forced to tighten metal screws directly into the plywood legs, without the aid of a metal guide or thread. So this will often cause cracking of the legs. I had read other reviews on here about the same issue, but thought I would take a chance considering the price. I was careful the first time installing the stands and had cracking. Called up Vanns, they shipped me out a new one and I was EXTRA careful the second time installing...same result. Vanns did offer me a $10 discount on an already discounted speaker stand, so thanks Vanns!
Overall, its a speaker stand and it does its job. I feel no vibration and my front speakers are at the appropriate height. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to how the stands would sound had there been no cracks, since Im 0-2 installing. Maybe its just me, but come on, not much to tightening screws. They look nice too so my only gripe is the design of the stands.

These are real good value stands. I have slightly heavier than recommended speakers on them and they are solid enough for me. Cable holes dont really allow for larger base speakers as the speaker covers the hole. Assembles easily. Spikes are plastic and not particularly strong but fair for this level of product. Makes a real improvement to sound quality and limits bass transfer through the floor so Im happy with these.

The box contains a pair of speaker stands. Careful construction is required! Make sure the provided screws match up to the pre-drilled holes and do not over-tighten them as this will cause the wood to crack. Adding a small drop of wood cement into each hole prior to construction will firm up the stands. For the price, these stands look great with the Polk Bookshelf speakers.

The wire holes dont work all that well since Im using some heavy wire and where it comes out of the top is directly under my speaker and wont run out smoothly, but I can still run it through the bottom and the back, it just doesnt go out the top well but out of the back of it from behind the cover.

Nice looking, functional stands for medium sized bookshelf speakers. Assembly is a little tricky - be careful to start screws right in the pre-drilled holes, or pressed wood product will split.
The material is somewhat brittle. I did not use the floor pegs, as it appeared that driving them into the pre-drilled holes in the feet of the units would split the wood. I suggest drilling them out just a bit larger so the feet can be pressed in by hand.

I ordered these stands for the front speakers of my new home theater system. They arrived on the same day as the home theater. The instructions are clear if a bit long because of the multi-language requirements. They are simple to assemble. Other reviews have mentioned that some cracking of the MDF can occur when installing the platforms several have stated that ensuring that you line up the screws with the pre-drilled holes will reduce this. I followed this advice and had no cracking in the pillars or the platforms. Several others had mentioned concerns about the stability of their speakers on the platforms Sanus must have been listening as mine came with neoprene pads to help isolate vibrations and help grip the speakers. They look great, and complement the speakers. The 24 height puts the tweeters almost exactly at my ear height when sitting. These may be Sanus low-budget stands but, there is still good quality in them. I can highly recommend them to anyone regardless of your budget. I am well pleased with them.

I read most of the reviews on this set of speaker stands and I almost didnt buy them because of the cracking problem that so many reviewers had when they assembled the stands. I did an exhaustive search for other speaker stands, but I couldnt find anything comparable for anywhere close to the price for the Sanus stands. So I decided to take a chance and buy these.
Im so glad I did. They work great. They even look decent.
As other reviewers said, the holes in the top plate and the base for the speaker wire are a joke, but I didnt need to use them. It looks just fine anyway by hiding the wires behind the soft plastic masks that fit into the back of the stands.
In order to avoid the cracking problem, I decided to modify the assembly by using a different set of screws. From all the reviews that complained about cracking, it sounded to me like the supplied screws are just too big. So, I just used shorter and thinner screws just by a little bit. I had no problems whatsoever with the assembly using the smaller screws. Even with the smaller screws, the stand is very sturdy and solid. No issues.
Heres the specs on the screws that I used Textron Drywall Screws, Steel Black Phosphorous, Phillips Bugle Head, Coarse. No. 6 X 1-14. Textron #30554.
These screws look identical to the screws supplied by Sanus, but as I said, theyre just a tad shorter and thinner.
The first pair of stands worked out so well that I just bought another pair. I used the smaller screws on these too, and they worked great again. Im very pleased with these stands.

You get what you pay for. While these stands dont stack up to the quality of more expensive stands, they are quite adequate for my needs. They look decent and are relatively stable. They dont have the mass of better stands, but I didnt expect it for the price. Two complaints the screw holes are under sized and tightening the screws can cause small cracks in the wood. You would do better to drill the holes out slightly before assembly. Second, the plastic covers that hide the wires are a little short allowing a small gap where the wires show. All in all, a decent product at a low price.

I understand that this item is very cheap in price, but Ive purchased lower priced furniture from Walmart before that was a much higher quality. First off, the pre-drilled holes arent nearly enough to keep the wood from splitting when you tighten the screws. If you plan to use this item, I suggest drilling with a slightly larger bit just to prevent the wood from splitting. Secondly, the screws dont even screw in flush with the wood. Since the compressed wood is so cheap cheaper then most other compressed furniture Ive found from Walmart or Ikea or wherever, the screw ends up just spinning before it flushes itself all the way into the wood.
What you end up getting it a stand with exposed split wood, and screws that stick up higher then the supplied rubber feet. The stand didnt feel stable as is, but when I rested a speaker on it, the speaker was uneven from resting on TWO screw heads because they screwed into the wood at varying depths.

I selected these to support my surround sound front speaker pair. There is nothing outstanding about them but they work just fine. They do have these crazy plastic pointed feet which I did not like to look of. I removed them and replaced them with felt pads and now they have a look I can live with. I chose the 24 high pair, if I had it to do over again I would select the next height up as these are a little low for the 20 inch high speakers that they support. For the price they were a good value. I saw some in the mall for twice the price that I liked half as much. They are easy to assemble and are nice and stable. The only negative is they lack a wire slot on the top plate so if your speakers do not have felt feet on them you will have to add them for the speaker to sit properly.

The only problem i had with these stands was in the assembly. The material, medium density fiber core which is far from wood, splits very easily if you tighten the screws just a hair too tight. I split 3 out of the 4 stands when i was putting them together. They all still work fine and the split is hardly noticeable but its just a little disheartening.
I still need to get some velco to fasten my speakers to the stand in case they get bumped. just another thing to keep i mind.
For the price these are great stands, look great and function well. Just dont expect high grade Oak or cherry blossom if thats even a real woodmaterial.

if you need to get your speakers on stands, and dont want to spend much money, these stands do the trick. the MDF does easily split if you overtighten the screws, but the design is relatively good, and assembly is easy. if you want to spend as little as possible, stands dont seem to come any cheaper.

Short and sweet. these stands do the job. They hold a larger speaker and provide a solid base with the carpet cleats. Very easy to assemble. Just use a hand screwdriver.

Fantastic stand for this price range. Looks better than many higher priced ones.
Assembly was easy and the materials make this a solid stand. Im no audiophile, but it seems to support and isolate the speaker very well.
Thank you Vanns.

For the price I paid $38.99, these are a very great value. They look great. Be careful when screwing them together. Go slowly so the wood doesnt split. Only flaw is the placement of the hole on the top speaker base. It is directly underneath where the speaker sits and unless you plan on raising the speaker a little bit, this might get in the way.

The Sanus BF24B are sturdy good looking speaker stands. They fit my Energy RC-10s and the speakers feel very supported. Assembly is very easy and quick. The wire management system is nice, I cant even see the wire going into the speaker while sitting in front of the speakers. Overall, very good speaker stand and I would definitely order them again.

I have a pair of oversized 6 bookshelfs on the 24 stands and they work great. I just drilled 4 holes in the bottom of each stand and ran small screws into the bottom of my speakers to hold them down tight.

A nice product for the price. The one came in slightly damaged, but the customer service department ordered a replacement part right away. I was worried I was stuck with something that was less than perfect. I would buy again,

These speaker stands were on sale and it didnt seem like i was getting a good deal but i was. The only problem i was having was when putting them together the screws would plit the wood ever so slowly. But if you take it slow and listen you should be able to do it. You can accually hear the wood splitting. Other wise i would recommend for the price anyways.
