I was a little concerned pairing this speaker with the CF-30. I wondered if the CC-5 was powerful enough and if I would have a nice balanced sound. Well, I do. CC-5 is perfect. In fact, I have CB-5s for the high back and front, the CR-10s for the high sides, CF-30 for the fronts next to the CC-5 in the middle. I have a great sound system. CC-5 will hold up nicely in my opinion.
Yes, you will need to use your AV to balance your speakers duh!!!, but to be honest, this setup sounded nice for the first 2 weeks while I was allowing break-in before I balanced them. Now that I balanced everything, it got even better. I am impressed.
Do I wish I got the CC-10? Not really, I saved money, it does not look to big I hung this on the wall under the 52 LCD, and I got a great system. Of course, be sure to get everything on sale. Everything I got was bought online and w big discounts. Do your research, not all speakers were bought at Vanns. However, Vanns by far has the best shipping. When I got some of my speakers from another online vendor, there was a hole in the box, yuk. Thanks big brown. Vanns is doubled boxed and what I got from Vanns CC-5 and a few other items, arrived on time and in mint condition.
I have a Onkyo 707 with latest firmware. I will upgrade my AV probably through Vanns because it the great shipping soon.

This is a small center that I paired with a pair of CB20s. Not much info about this out there as far as reviews, so I took a chance buying it. The CC10 is said to be the better match for the CB20s but the smaller dimension of the CC5 was important to me. Frankly, it sounds really good to me. Running these off a Denon 1611 and the Audessey setup got the EQ balanced nicely. Its pleasant to listen to and voicematch is perfect to my ear. Like all the energy connoisseur series, its attractive to look at, well built, sounds great and is a particularly high value.
I test drove Deftech, B&W, infinity and a few others side by side to the energys when I bought the CB20s...to my ear, the Energys were very similar to B&W, but a little more mellow, which I prefer. and a third the price.

Great center speaker for my home theater. I upgraded my home theater recently with the Energy CF70 floor speakers and the Energy cc5 center channel. I didnt know how much I was missing. Voices are much clearer and easier to understand and I can hear all kind of other sound effects that I didnt even know was there on some of my favorite shows. Great price from Vanns.
The shipping time was much shorter than I expected, only taking a couple of days. I thought the packaging was overkill, with the factory box put inside another much bigger box with lots of packaging around. Needless to say, it was in perfect condition when I received it. For the price, this speaker cant be beat.
