Let me start by saying these speakers produce very nice sound. It does not seem to matter what height they are at, the sound still sounds fine. The black finish is very attractive, so the wife likes it. The subwoofer feels solid and produces good lows.
I have mine hooked up to a pre-amp, which controls the volume. I would rather have it set up so the volume on the speakers is turned all the way up so the pre-amp would have available to it the full range of volume. The only beef I have with the speaker is the auto power-off. If the volume is set all the way up at the speaker, then the signal coming from the pre-amp is fairly low, which causes the speaker to power down after a few minutes. The sensing for the power-down should have been done *after* the speaker volume control, as this directly measures the sound coming out of the speakers.

The best sounding sound bar in the market. Thundering bass. You can control the bass and have the clearest of vocals and movie dialog. Boss cinemate will give a first impression but once set up youll be surprise there is no controlling the surrounding effects and bass. Put the volume up and effects goes up muddling the vocals and dialog. Definitely a humongous difference compared to your TV units speaker and alot better than most 5 piece surround sound within the $500-800.00 range.
For the newest models of TVs it is a breeze to set up.
