A Progressive 3D Television

The display alternately shows images for the left and right eyes. The left and right lenses of the eyewear open and close in sync with this display timing to show separate images to the left and right eyes. By repeating this action at high speed, the brain perceives 3D images. And because this method displays FULL HD 3D images just as they are, both eyes receive 3D images in high, full-HD quality. In order to enjoy the original image quality of a movie, you need to have a display that portrays the images exactly as the movie's creators intended. VIERA has cleared the high standards set by the THX Certified Display Program. It reproduces both 2D and 3D images with cinema-like quality. Enjoy beautiful images that are optimal for movies. The brightness, saturation, contrast and sharpness of colors are finely compensated in each scene. Highly vivid colors are produced with hardly any mutual interference. Convert 2D Images into 3D

Unique Panasonic technology converts 2D images into high-quality 3D images in real-time. The image depth is analyzed from the compositional, color and brightness data of each scene, to convert 2D images into naturally beautiful 3D images. In addition to ordinary TV programs, this method can be used to convert a variety of 2D images -- such as web content, Blu-ray Disc media, and photos and movies saved onto SD Memory Cards -- into 3D images with a high level of precision.

A Better Remote

VIERA remote App lets you use a smartphone or tablet device as a remote control. Tap and flick-based commands are intuitive. Text input is easy, too, with familiar keyboard operation. These handy devices also make great gamepads. Designed especially for web page browsing, the touch pad controller fits snugly in the hand. Simply scroll it with your thumb for easy, PC-like operation without even having to look at it.

Overall picture quality is the best I've seen. The blacks and dark shades are superior. I set the picture to THX Cinema - done! This thing looks great. I agree with other postings that the stand is a little cheap looking, it also extends a few inches from the front of the set so it may seem awkward on some stands. Perhaps all the more reason to wall mount it. The touchpad remote is difficult to use when selecting from the onscreen keyboard. I will have to turn off the tap-to-select feature. The main remote is nice for watching TV, but doesn't support DirecTV or my other components. My Logitech Harmony900 does a nice job of tying it together. I also programmed the DirecTV remote to control TV power and volume for my wife to watch stuff she likes it when its simple!. All other internet features are nice and easy to use. I like watching YouTube and NetFlix movies much more on this than my Sony Blu-ray player. It even supports HD, 5.1, and subtitles. The sound quality from the speakers is pretty poor. I wish they would have added some direct speaker-out jacks andor a subwoofer terminal. It does have a toslinkoptical output, but I dont always want to turn on the hi-fi just to watch television. Again, the most important part of this display is the display. And in my opinion, its the best on the market today..... but it comes at a price.

I love this Viera so much! It has absolutely the clearest, sharpest picture I’ve ever seen, as well as vivid, life-like colors. This TV is great, overall. Five stars from me, no question! I picked it up a few weeks ago after I got the Hopper through my job at Dish. The Hopper gives me HD and DVR capability to four different TVs. I already had three TVs, but since my in-laws moved in with us a while, three was no longer enough. There were constant arguments over missing shows because of DVR timer conflicts or someone not able to watch their show or game in HD, so I started looking for a fourth set. I love it, and whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a great TV at a decent price!
