Having owned a yamaha stereo amp back in the 80s, I was always impressed with the looks, reliability and the sound of the amp. These early units had variable loudness which, I thought, was excellent for finessing certain recordings and for low level listening. What a great idea! When I saw that Yamaha had incorporated this into their new amps I was thrilled. This feature alone is worth a lot and was probably the deciding factor for this purchase.
The amp so far has not disappointed. It sounds fantastic driving a pair of Energy RC-70s with more power than most people will ever need.
